Evelyn is Fierce!

This was a great commission! Mat DeBeane commissioned me to draw his two little girls, this one being of the youngest, Evelyn. Now when he hit my table I won't lie, I wasn't quite sure about the commission. And that's because drawing kids takes a serious amount of finesse and because his description of her was that she is a fierce little thing. And that is all well and good but I would need some pretty good ref.'s of her being so fierce, and the whole thing could have been a crapfest. But Mr. DeBeane sent me just the right ref. images of his little angels and I was so happy to do it at that point. And this was the result. I love it! I hope that she never changes! And I say that I hope she never changes because that face, I can't take too much credit for it. That is straight from a reference image of her. I mean, there was no tracing or anythign like that, but she was actually making that face! It was great! So never change Evelyn!
